Applicants can apply for scholarships in either academic or vocational studies. Three of the awards will be for students wishing to pursue vocational studies and 22 will be for academic studies. The top scoring student in each category receives $1,500 and each additional winner receives $1,000. Scholarships may be used toward a certificate or degree in a recognized profession or vocation, including community colleges, business colleges and technical institutes, as well as institutions offering an academic degree program. Vocational scholarships are intended for use at community colleges, technical or business schools or other institutions that offer vocational training which does not lead to a two- or four-year academic degree. Selection is based on academic achievement and essays.
