ACL/NJCL National Latin Examination Scholarships

Eligibility: Applicants must be Latin students and gold medal winners in the National Latin Exam Awards. They must also be high school seniors and must agree to take at least one Latin or classical Greek course each semester of their first year of college.

Amount: $2,000

Fellowships for Regular Program in Greece

Eligibility: Applicants must have completed at least one to two years of graduate study and must take exams in ancient Greek language, history and either literature or art and archaeology. Students must be able to read French, German, ancient Greek and Latin with an ability to also read modern Greek and Italian considered helpful. Applicants must be graduate students who are preparing for an advanced degree in classical and ancient Mediterranean studies or a related field. The fellowships provide study in Athens or Greece for nine months and may not be used for costs at the student's home institution.

Amount: $11,500 plus housing, board and fees

Meyer-Simon Latin Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from Heritage High School with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must have successfully completed Latin at Heritage High School and will major in a degree program that requires at least one college-level Latin class to be completed. Applicants must submit letters of recommendation, a recent school transcript, a completed FAFSA, an essay and a special attachment or membership verification information.

National Junior Classical League (NJCL) Scholarships

Eligibility: Applicants must be NJCL members in good standing, entering college the upcoming year and studying the classics. Special consideration is given to those planning to teach Latin, Greek or classical humanities. Selection is based on financial need, JCL service, academics and recommendations.
