Eligibility: Applicants must be graduate students who are enrolled at a U.S. college or university. They must be researching some aspect of garden design. Selection is based on academic merit and applicability of proposed research to the aims of the Garden Club of America.

Preference is given to those who plan to pursue a career in horticulture. Students must have a 2.25 overall GPA and a 2.7 GPA in their major.

Eligibility: Applicants must be seniors in a two-year course and have finished the first year, juniors in a four-year course and have finished the first two years or be graduate students. Undergraduates must have a minimum 2.25 GPA and graduate students a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must be from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont. Preference will be given to applicants who have financial need and who plan to work in the nursery industry after graduation, including starting a business.
