Eligibility: Applicants must be African American students attending a UNCF member college or university with a GPA of at least 2.5. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have unmet financial need that is verified by the college or university financial aid office. Applicants are encouraged to complete the UNCF General Scholarship application to be matched with scholarships for which they meet the criteria.

Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program

Eligibility: Applicants must live in Maryland, and they must be employed full-time by Maryland state or local government or nonprofit organizations that serve low income or underprivileged people. They must have a degree from a Maryland college or from any law school, or certification from the Maryland State Department of Education. Priority is given to individuals who have graduated in the past three years. Applicants must also have college loans on which they have not defaulted, and each person's annual gross salary must be under $60,000. Applicants must work in one of the following positions: lawyers, teachers, nurses, nurse faculty members, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, speech pathologists or physician assistants.

Truman Scholar
